Living Life to the Fullest

Occupational therapy involves evaluation and treatment to focus on recovery and maintenance of activities of daily living that may be impaired due to aging or illness. This is achieved by education, adaptation, exercises and training in the use of special equipment.

Therapists enhance patient functionality through:

  • Education and training in areas such as dressing, bathing, eating, toileting & grooming
  • Adaptive techniques or equipment to overcome physical disabilities and regain independence
  • Exercises to maintain normal joint movement in order to reduce the effects of arthritis or other conditions that cause pain
  • Activities for memory, orientation and cognitive improvement
  • Strength and coordination exercises to improve function
